From the bride:

Chris and Lindsey technically attended Middle School together, though Chris was a year older and neither of them remember ever meeting. However, when they first started dating, Lindsey whipped out the old yearbook and swears she remembers swooning over Chris’ yearbook photo in those early teen years.

Flash forward 12 years and the two met through mutual friends. They were both dating other people at the time, but after moving on from those relationships, Lindsey lured Chris out to a local watering hole with the promise of a great band (there was a band playing, but it wasn’t great). One date led to another, and another, and another and the two have been together ever since!  After dating for over three years, Lindsey began getting a little antsy and would often tease Chris about waiting for the next step. Chris dropped not-so-subtle hints about popping into the jewelers on his lunch breaks from work, further egging on Lindsey’s anticipation. 6 months before the planned proposal date, Chris purchased the ring, told a few close friends and family, and the wait began!

When they first began dating, Lindsey shared the famous “Meyers Family Apple Tour” with Chris. The Meyers family had been making the loop every Fall to stop at specific spots to pick apples, hold the annual Smallest Apple Contest and enjoy delicious apple treats. Chris being a great lover of the Fall season, always greatly enjoyed this new tradition and decided that was how he was going to pop the question. Lindsey became instantly suspicious when Chris proposed they take the annual apple tour Labor Day weekend, a bit earlier than they usually went. The two picked apples at the first stop, Lindsey anxiously trying not to act weird or dry heave from suspicion of the impending proposal. A successful apple pick and a Smallest Apple Contest later, there was still no proposal. Lindsey calmly accepted that maybe today was not the day.

They traveled to the next stop on the tour, a picnic at the scenic overlook of the Nashoba Valley. Suddenly, while mid-bite cheese and crackers, Lindsey heard Chris say “I have a question for you”, as he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. Lindsey of course began instantly crying (shocking, we know) and the two began to share the news with close friends and family. Lindsey insisted Chris be the one to ask a nearby woman on a bike to take pictures for them, as she was afraid her hysterical sobbing/giggling combination would scare off any potential photographers. The woman (whose name they did not catch) was very sweet and congratulatory, and captured some great photos. She wished them well, sharing that she had been married for 25 years, had 4 boys and that it was a great ride.  The annual Apple Tour continued, though the cider donuts that year simply couldn’t compete with the events of that day!

From the beginning stages of planning, we wanted our wedding day to be personal and a true reflection of who we are as a couple.  It was an absolutely incredible day that turned out just the way we pictured, and we were overjoyed to be able to celebrate with our family and friends.  It was a beautiful start to the rest of our adventure together as a married couple! “
