Love Story

From The Bride:

Meni and I met Feb 2013 through eharmony. I was at my sisters wedding in Hawaii and couldn’t stop thinking about him! We decided we would meet when I returned. We met and really hit it off. He brought me to Costa Rica 6 weeks later. My family was very nervous because they really didn’t know him. But I knew it was right ! As the months went on, and we were doing well, we made a decision to move in together that summer just to see how it would go. As a teacher, I was off in the summer and it worked out! We loved it. We went to Spain that summer together and by October we were moved into an apartment together. Meni did a lot to make sure we were together. He sold his home in Staten Island and left his friends and family to be with me on Long Island. He’s a great man. That Thanksgiving Meni brought me on a hike through the Cold Spring Harbor area. He brought our dog Kaiser and tried to get on one knee all through the hike. But people kept passing and it wasn’t “right”. He brought me from the hike across the street to the beach. We walked the water and he got on one knee and asked the question. It was so sweet and perfect. From that point we lived together, bought a home and got married this summer! It was the day of my dreams and I’m so lucky that I got to marry the man of my dreams too!

I got my dress at Kleinfelds in NYC. Originally I had bought a very sexy dress that my friends and ( loved when I tried it on at the store. I felt SO BEAUTIFUL in it and I bought it impulsively. But it really taught me a life lesson – never do anything BIG regarding your wedding without your mom’s approval ! It was a little too sexy for my mom….very lacy and sheer. For weeks I labored over whether to keep it or not. Thankfully Kleinfelds honored my purchase and put my money towards the new dress. I went with my Mom and we picked the Lazaro 3201. Perfection! Especially perfect for an Oheka Castle wedding. It’s long ruffled train and beautiful lace detail was absolutely and totally me and I’m so glad my mom and I, together, made the right decision.
